1 What qualifications do your staff
hold?
Our staff
are qualified to N.V.Q level 3 standard. I have one member of staff who is an
Early Years Professional and has almost completed her B A.
I do have
staff who are training to level 3 standard.
I do not
take staff on a permanent basis unless they are willing to train to level 3
standard.

2 What are the ratios of staff to
children?
For babies
aged 0-2years the ratio is 1-3
For infants
aged 2-3 years the ratio is 1-4
For
pre-school aged 3-5 years the ratio is 1-8
These are
standard ratios as set by Ofsted.

3 What do we need to bring with us for our child?
Babies will
need to bring bottles either ready made or separate milk powder. Staff will
discuss this you on your visit. We need nappies and a change of clothes. From toddler age (16 months) to 5 years we
ask you to bring a pair of wellies and some indoor shoes as the children
spend a lot of time out of doors.

4 Do you offer flexible childcare?
This would
depend on your requirements. We are a very busy nursery and at the time of
writing (February 2011) we are a full nursery and therefore we cannot
accommodate a too flexible routine. You would need to discuss this with us.

5 Have you facilities for special needs
children?
Yes, we
have cared for many children with a wide variety of special needs. We would
be happy to discuss any extra needs with you.

6 What meals do you provide?
We provide
breakfast with a choice of cereals and toast, dinner which is a cooked meal
with also a pudding, and a light tea. We have a healthy snack time mid
morning and we ensure we have 5 fruit /vegetables a day. We also provide special diets for those who
request them.

7 Do you have a high turnover of
staffing?
No, we have
a lot of long serving staff. One member of staff has been with us for 20
years. Two staff members have been here for 16 years. Five staff members have
been here 10 years and another five have been here 8 years. Three quarters of
our staff have been here at least five years.

8 Do the children have access to
outdoor play?
We have the
most amazing outdoor space any child could wish to play in and we use this to
its full advantage.

9 What facilities do you have for the
children to sleep?
We have a
separate bedroom for the babies and also a comfy area if they wish to sleep
on cushions.
The older
children have mattresses on the floor with blankets and staff sit with the
children to help them go to sleep.

Do we have to pay if we are away on holiday?
Yes, we do charge if you are away
on holiday or if your child is off sick.
