Pre School is registered for children aged 2-5 years, therefore giving us the flexibility of placing a child of 2-3 years at either nursery depending on their needs.

Pre School is situated approximately 100 metres from the day nursery building. The building consists of large rooms and wonderful outdoor facilities. We have a large secure garden for outdoor play. Children access all the curriculum areas during the day as well as outdoors with their key person.

Children are encouraged to become more independent learners and although there is an emphasis on education, our fundamental aim is for our children to learn through play. Pre School encourages the children to develop good manners and respect for others as well as their surroundings.

We introduce the children to a wide range of activities, under the care and supervision of qualified staff through which we aim to prepare the children for their school days ahead. We also work closely with a teacher from the early year’s team in Derby.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum as set by Ofsted. All our planning and assessments are done for each child as an individual and through these we encourage and help each child to achieve their full potential. We do have an excellent Ofsted report.
